'Disenchanted' to premiere on Disney+, fans say 'finally a Disney sequel we'd actually like'
Disney is popular for all of its princess movies, be it the new Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen' or the classic, 'Cinderella.' However, in between was another live-action princess named Giselle from the movie, 'Enchanted' (2007). As we know this is the season of remakes and sequels, there is good news for you all. Disney's 'Enchanted' has a sequel coming up, 'Disenchanted' starring most of the original cast. 'Enchanted' focuses on an archetypal Disney princess-to-be exiled from her animated world into the live-action world of New York City, while 'Disenchanted' will be the continuation of the original plot with a new twist.
Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey ('Grey's Anatomy' alum), James Marsden, and Idina Menzel ('Frozen') reprise their roles from the first film, with Gabriella Baldacchino replacing Rachel Covey. They are joined by newcomers Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Oscar Nunez, and Griffin Newman. After the trailer was released fans could barely contain their excitement as they never expected a sequel for this movie. Although Kevin Lima helmed the first film, he has been replaced by Adam Shankman for the sequel.
