Abby Choi murder: Police scour landfill for dismembered model's missing hands and torso
HONGKONG, CHINA: Police are searching a landfill site as part of the investigation into the murder of a Hong Kong model whose dismembered legs were found inside a fridge. More than 100 officers wearing protective suits used excavators and shovels to search for Abby Choi's hands and torso, which remain missing.
A young woman's skull, believed to be Choi's, was discovered in a cooking pot seized from the property where her legs were discovered. Officials believe she was struck in the back of the skull during the fatal attack. The North East New Territories landfill in Ta Kwu Ling, Hong Kong, near the border with mainland China, has been searched for her remaining body parts, as reported by Skynews.

'Suspects threw away bags of evidence'
Police Superintendent Alan Chung told reporters, "The suspects threw away several bags of important evidence in the morning of February 22. They may be some human body parts, or they could be the clothes and the phone of the victim, or even the weapons." Chung stated that they had not found anything substantial yet, aside from bones that could not be determined whether they belonged to a human or an animal.
Choi's family gathered in black to pay their respects near the house where her body parts were discovered. They had previously gone to a mortuary to identify her. Some mourners were visibly moved, but the family did not appear to respond to reporters' inquiries, CBS news reported.
Why was Abby Choi killed?
Alex Kwong appeared in court again on Tuesday for a previous theft case in which he had jumped bail. Another woman who was arrested for allegedly assisting the suspects was released on bail pending further investigation. According to police, Choi's former father-in-law was suspected of having an affair with her, as reported by Forbes.
