The attack was 'well-planned' and 'premeditated'
The attack was "well-planned" and "premeditated," and there were many "smokescreens" to hide the truth from authorities, according to a statement by police. The ground-floor apartment of the three-story home in Tai Po's Lung Mei Tsuen had been meticulously prepared as a place to cut up a body, according to Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-lun of the Kowloon West regional crime unit. He said, "The body parts that we found were inside the refrigerator. There are two legs belonging to a female."
He further added, "We are still looking for the head, the torso, and hands, which we believed were disposed of." Additionally, reports indicate that human tissue was discovered in two soup pots. Twenty police officers are said to have entered and exited the property while it was then taped off as they investigated the scene. Officers arrived at the victim's former father-in-law's apartment, which was utterly devoid of furniture and only contained a couch and a table. Police allegedly found a meat grinder, choppers, hammer, and an electric saw in the former father-in-law's house, which was searched on Friday.
Underwater search will now be carried out
The Straits Times reported that an underwater search will now be carried out to try and locate the rest of Choi's body. Police also stated that a 28-year-old woman's "post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death," however, its connection to this case isn't explicitly mentioned. Choi and her ex-husband have two kids together. She wed her current spouse in 2016, who is the son of the founder of restaurant chain Tam Jai International, which has locations in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, and Japan, as reported by AsiaOne.
