SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES: A terminally ill girl’s dream of becoming a police officer was granted by the New South Wales Police for a day. A video shared by the NSW Police showcased the events of the sweet day.

Zoe has been suffering from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and incurable cancer. Just before her fourth birthday, Zoe was invited by the NSW police to don the uniform and chase the 'bad guy'. The adorable video was shared on the department's Facebook page.

In the three-minute clip, little Zoe and her mother Huyen first met Constable Charlie and a sweet penguin, who gave her a gift for the special day. However, just as Zoe is seen mingling with Charlie and the other officers, one person sneaks past her and snatches her gift. Instead of chasing the ‘bad guy’ themselves, the cops decide to take help from little Zoe.

Zoe is then given a uniform and a badge with her own name and is taken to the NSW Police Force Junior Recruit. She then joins in for a high-speed chase across Sydney, similar to the storyline of 'Taken'.

To catch the perp, Zoe is joined by fellow officers on an adventure where she travels in a car, a boat, and a helicopter. The video then shows Constable Zoe directing the force on Sydney Harbour as they chased the ‘bad guy’ with assistance from the Marine Area Command.

The 'thief' managed to get away then, but little Zoe was keen on getting her present back. After returning to land, Zoe thought that they should take the search to the skies to chase him down. Using the help of Aviation Command, Zoe can be seen instructing the pilot as they soared over Sydney in a helicopter.

Upon receiving a tip that the thief was near, Constable Zoe and her team landed and sat in a black police car for the final leg of the chase. Finally, she was able to catch the thief and a tactical specialist carried Zoe to the apprehended 'criminal'. She finally got her birthday present back.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb lauded Zoe's efforts. She said, “Congratulations Constable Zoe, your bravery and smart police skills helped catch the bad guy. On behalf of a grateful police force, I would like to thank Constable Zoe for her tremendous efforts."

She added, “I wish you a very happy birthday Zoe and send you a big Commissioner hug.”
