'90 Day Fiance' Season 9: Is Thais getting cold feet? Here's why Patrick is 'terrified' she might go back to Brazil
Time and again, communication has always proved to be an issue for the couples on '90 Day Fiance'. Between language barriers and the stress of the visa process, the relationship breaks down over the failure to communicate. And while Patrick and Thais can converse in two languages, they have other issues to deal with. For Thais and Patrick, trust issues seem to be a running theme. Thais had made it plenty clear that she didn't trust her fiance, seeing that he had previously kissed a woman while they were still together.
Thais even went so far as to track his phone and whereabouts, in order to make sure it doesn't happen again. But turns out Patrick wasn't the only one with secrets. While Thais was all set to marry him, there was still the looming issue that her family back home in Brazil had no idea that she was going to tie the knot.

Patrick was visibly upset when he found out that Thais had not told her family that she had come to the USA to marry him and with the clock ticking, both he and John began to pile on the pressure to have her tell them. While Thais kept trying her level best to put it off, Patrick was having none of it, seeing that for him, it was important that her father knew that they were soon to be wed. With the wedding prep already underway, Thais found herself backed up in a corner and finally had to face the music, she had to now tell her father that she would be marrying Patrick. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan for the pair, as Thais' father made it clear that he did not like Patrick and that he was opposed to their marriage.
He told Thais that she should drop the idea and come back home. For Patrick this was a "gutshot" that he was not prepared for, seeing that he was always under the impression that Thais' father liked him. But that was not the only issue, seeing that Thais was actually considering her father's words. She explained to Patrick that the move was hard on her and that she missed her family and her life back home in Brazil. Patrick explained in his confessionals that he was "terrified" that she go back and was unsure about what to do -- he didn't know if she should support her or be upset over the situation.
