'90 Day Fiance': Kobe calls Emily 'selfish' for wanting date night instead of seeing son Cobin

While Kobe wanted to see his son, Emily wanted to reignite the spark in their relationship

With Season 9 of '90 Day Fiance' finally here, the series is wasting no time in laying on the drama. As each of the couples make the arduous journey to the USA to be with their spouse and start the 90-day process, they quickly learn that the life they imagined is not quite the same as the one they are about to experience.

Out of all the couples this season, it looks like Kobe and Emily certainly have a lot on the line. The couple has a young son together, Cobin, who Kobe had not met yet, seeing that he was born during the pandemic when Emily returned to the USA.

With Kobe finally in the USA, he was excited at the idea of seeing his child, who he had only heard about thus far. For Emily, however, she previously expressed concern over her physical intimacy with Kobe or lack of it. Seeing that they've spent two years apart and the fact that motherhood changed her physically, she was extremely worried that Kobe might not find her attractive, which might further hinder their relationship and the effort she was making for things to work out.

While Kobe did point out Emily's weight gain, he was certainly happy to see and even more thrilled when she showed him the lingerie she got him and brought up the idea of spending the night together. Kobe himself mentioned that they had a very sexually charged relationship back in China, and even though they both have considerably changed, he hoped that the chemistry was still there.

And while the idea of getting intimate excited him, he was not quite prepared for what followed -- Emily explained that they would be spending alone time together, which meant that Kobe had to wait another day to see Cobin. It was here that Kobe's excitement faded, seeing that he wanted nothing more than to see his son, with sex taking a back seat. Kobe made it clear in his confessionals that he thought Emily was being selfish and that he wanted to see his son, stating that he wanted a chance, as he had "never met him before."
