'90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days': Fans fear 'nice guy' Mike Berk will be hurt by Ximena

Fans and Mike's family seem to share the same sentiment -- Ximena is using him for his money

When it comes to '90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days', you never know what you're going to get -- the show is a mixed bag of love stories and scams. While some people try to turn their long-distance relationships into marriage, others are only in it for a green card or money. For Mike Berk, love and relationships aren't his strong suit. Having been in only one relationship back in high school, 34-year-old Mike found love online when he met 24-year-old Ximena Morales from Columbia. Ready to have his own romance, Mike is all set to fly down to Columbia and ask Ximena to marry him. But his family seems rightfully concerned.

 Mike lives with his father Larry and grandfather Hyman. Moreover, his inexperience in relationships makes everyone around him worried about his wellbeing. His younger brother Steven and his friends seemed alarmed, especially when the latter found out that he had not only been paying for Ximena's rent but had also purchased a refrigerator and washing machine for her. Mike, who was all too happy to be buying toys for Ximena's children, aged 3 and 7, tried to brush aside just how much he had been supporting her.

But fans too were concerned about the issue. "Mike seems like a really sweet nerdy guy and I hope he's not being used I wish these people made better choices when it comes to the spouses they choose  #90DayFiance" tweeted a fan. "Mike doesn't know what he's getting himself into spending money on someone that he's never met and doesn't get that she is using him she might still be in a relationship behind his back or something else he doesn't know about #90dayfiancebeforethe90days #90DayFiance," added another. "Man Mike needs some good strong female support cause this woman gonna take him for a ride, he seems like a nice guy #90DayFiance" agreed a fan. "I really hope Mike doesn't gets hurt he seems like a really nice guy. #90DayFiance" stated a fan. "I have mixed feeling about Mike (potentially) being stood up by Ximena. On one hand, thank goodness...he doesn't deserve that mess. On the other... #90dayfiance" added another, seeing that by the look of next week's preview episode, Mike arrives to the airport only to be greeted by no one.
