For the cast of '1000-lb Best Friends', the focus is on having each other's backs throughout their weight loss journey. It certainly hasn't been easy, but they hold each other accountable and support each other, no matter what.

Vannessa has been incredibly vocal regarding pep talks and preaching self-love for the most part. However, she seems to be shut off and refuses to see a therapist concerning her mental health. Meghan has been trying to get her to go to therapy to address some of her deep-rooted issues.

With an upcoming school reunion, Tina wanted the ladies to join her. However, Vannessa and Meghan were not too keen about tagging along. Vannessa mentioned that she was bullied right through school, with people making jokes whenever she walked through the hallways. She expressed how it broke her down, and now, combined with the fact that she was struggling with her diet, she found herself in a hard place yet again, which is exactly why Meghan wanted her to see a therapist.

Vannessa has often spoken about how she finds comfort in food — a behavioral pattern that began when she was very young, seeing that her mother always gave her food to validate her emotions. While she is trying to stay on her diet and get healthy, she is aware that there is a lot of unlearning that needs to happen. She mentioned that since she has been dieting, it has caused her to revisit the past more often than ever, bringing up old memories and dark secrets of things she's had to do emotionally and physically.

The therapist lauded her for her self-awareness through the journey and fans, too, extended support. "#1000lbBestFriends I cried watching Vanessa cry..." tweeted a fan. "I just want to give Vannessa a hug!!! #1000lbBestFriends" added another. "My heartbreaks for Vanessa what she’s going through in her life. #1000lbBestFriends" noted a fan. "Poor Vanessa I can’t even think about what her stories may be ;( girl it’s okkkk I promise we’re all here for u #1000lbBestFriends" tweeted a fan.
