SAN BRUNO, CALIFORNIA: YouTube banned Pornhub over multiple violations of its community guidelines, days after the company's presence was prohibited from TikTok alleging the display of child pornographic content. The Pornhub channel was terminated from the online video-sharing platform following the prohibited linking of sites that contain content unallowed to host according to its community guidelines.

MindGeek, Pornhub's parent company, has 'vehemently denied' the Google-owned company's claim of multiple violations of the guidelines that it has linked to porn sites, reports the Daily Mail. The adult content firm has been facing a couple of bans in the past few years where Mastercard and Visa discontinued payment services from Pornhub citing 'unlawful content on its sites', and they have also faced a permanent removal from Meta's Instagram recently based on repeated violation of its policies specified about nudity, adult content and sexual solicitation

"Upon review, we terminated the channel PornhubOfficial following multiple violations of our Community Guidelines. We enforce our policies equally for everyone, and channels that repeatedly violate or are dedicated to violative content are terminated," said the YouTube spokesperson, Jack Malon according to the Daily Mail

Though YouTube has not clarified the specific guidelines that were violated by the adult-content firm, its policy mentions that "explicit content meant to be sexually gratifying is not allowed on YouTube". It also states that "YouTube doesn’t allow content that endangers minors' emotional and physical well-being."

"Pornhub has lost yet another means to market and profit from exploitation, and we are grateful to YouTube for removing the account of this predatory enterprise," stated the director of corporate and strategic initiatives for the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Lina Nealon in a statement issued after the news of Pornhub's ban from YouTube came out.

Talking about the effects of the content displayed, Nealon said "Pornhub was driving people directly to their pornography site – a violation of YouTube's policies –which mounting evidence shows is rife with child sexual abuse material, sex trafficking, rape, and image-based sexual abuse."

She pointed out that the channel run by Pornhub allowed "children to view the videos of women being raped, children being abused, extreme acts of violence and racism that are so pervasive on Pornhub. It also served as de facto advertising for this criminal company."

The Daily Mail reported that a spokesperson of MindGeek denied the claims of YouTube saying that "Pornhub maintains the absolute best trust and safety measures on the internet and takes special care to ensure it does not violate any of YouTube's Community Guidelines. Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of discrimination against those in the adult industry."

Before Pornhub was removed from YouTube on December 16, the channel had nearly 900,000 subscribers.
