MIAMI, FLORIDA: Rob Gronkowski recently took aim at Zach Wilson after he faced controversy over allegations of sleeping with his mother’s friend. While appearing on ‘Fox NFL Kickoff’ on Sunday, November 6, the former football tight end took part in the ‘Glass Half-Full or Half-Empty’ segment.

During the segment, Gronkowski said, “I’m going to go half-full, as long as they can get their QB’s head in the playbook instead of outside at parent-teacher conferences.” The 33-year-old’s remarks not just left his Fox Sports colleagues laughing out loud but also amused people on Twitter.

A user shared, “Wait wait wait, I get the joke 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️.” The second user wrote, “The sip afterwards is the icing on the cake 😂😂😂.” “That is a great quip! Visiting stadiums should play ‘Stacy's Mom’ and ‘Mrs. Robinson’ when the Jets offense comes on the field,” the third user tweeted while a fourth one said, “Gronk did not just say that about Zach Wilson on live TV??! 💀💀” 

“We need more of Gronk on TV,” a fifth user stated and a sixth said, “Rob Gronkowski is a national treasure.”

However, not everyone was happy with Gronkowski making fun of Wilson as a person tweeted, “He's 23? Let him do his thang.” “That's awful he'd say that....it calls for a suspension to be served playing TE in Tampa,” another said while one more chimed in, “Fire this idiot his family is the toxic male version of the Kardashian’s especially his scumbag father hanging at the frat party old guy vibe.”

Gronkowski’s dig at Wilson happened months after the New York Jets’ player’s ex-girlfriend, Abbey Gile, alleged that he slept with his mother’s best friend. The bizarre accusation came after a social media user called Gile a “homie hopper” since she’s dating Washington Commanders' wide receiver Dax Milne, who was Wilson’s college teammate at Brigham Young University (BYU).

However, she reportedly fired back, saying, “He was sleeping with his mom's best friend... that's the real homie hopper.” A few days after that, Wilson made a sarcastic remark about the claims in an Instagram post by writing. “Took the boys to @gozzerranchclub in Idaho before camp! Poor cell service…what I miss?”

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago former football quarterback Warren Moon claimed that had Gronkowski not retired, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could have won. He told TMZ that “he got the opinion based on everything he's seen out of Tom Brady on the field through seven games." He reportedly said, "He says he's witnessed the GOAT struggling in the pocket ... and missing an old reliable on important downs.”

“He's been a security blanket for [Brady] for so long. Whenever there's a key play that needs to be made, especially down in the redzone or whatever -- and they had a tough time scoring in the redzone last week -- that's the guy he would usually go to, Rob Gronkowski,” Moon added.
