Matthew Luckhurst: Texas cop fired for giving homeless man dog poop 'sandwich' is fired AGAIN!
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS: A Texas police officer who was fired by one Texas police department in 2016 for offering a homeless man a sandwich made with feces has now been fired by another Texas police agency. After a different incident in 2016, Matthew Luckhurst was released from the San Antonio police department for all time. His employment with the Floresville, Texas, police force came later.
The mayor of the city reported receiving a flood of emails from residents who were angry at Luckhurst, who had been rehired as a police officer. Mayor Cissy Gonzalez-Dippel said in a statement, "Matthew Luckhurst was released from employment with the Floresville Police Department yesterday December 13th." He added, "Our city manager, Andy Joslin is implementing stricter hiring policies for all city of Floresville employees. He is also working with Chief Herrera on the Reserve program."

MEAWW previously reported, a Luckhurst, who was fired for delivering a homeless person a feces sandwich and then gained his job back on a technicality again battling to be reinstated after being fired again in the same year for other poop-related pranks.
When Luckhurst was fired from the San Antonio Police Department in October 2016, it was because of a frightening "prank" in which he picked up dog poop, put it on a piece of bread, and put the "sandwich" in a styrofoam container. A sleeping homeless man eventually woke up, picked up the container, and appeared to have consumed its contents. The container was intended to be given to the city's homeless as a "half-eaten meal" by a nearby religious organization. He was fired once the incident came to light, but on a technicality, he was able to maintain his job. He argued that the incident happened outside of the 180-day limit that the department might use to suspend him indefinitely. An arbitrator agreed with this argument but nonetheless rejected it.
When the department learned of a subsequent "prank" in which Luckhurst and another officer defecated in the women's restroom, failed to flush afterward, and smeared a brown substance on the seat, Luckhurst was fired once more in December 2016. The city's counsel accused Luckhurtst of harassing, intimidating, and degrading female officers with the joke during this week's arbitration session. San Antonio Police Officer Jessica Medrano, who was eight and a half months pregnant at the time, agreed with the city's accusation.
"I had a lot of nausea during my pregnancy. As soon as I smelt it I wanted to vomit. I was gagging," she said, adding she was left "mad and disgusting" and would never work alongside Luckhurst again. "It's led to mistrust between the citizens of San Antonio and our department, that our officers have had to answer for his actions," she said.
