While many individuals make an effort to recycle and lessen their dependency on single-use plastics, one woman's disclosure of what she claimed to be reusable toilet paper left people in awe. An employee of Net Zero Company came under fire for promoting reusable toilet paper on TikTok.

The contentious item promoted by a staff member from Net Zero Company which supposedly creates "Earth-friendly products for everyday life," claimed that it's worthwhile. “After the global toilet paper shortage of 2020, we came out with our reusable version,” she explained in a TikTok clip. “And to the 56,000 comments in disapproval of it, it’s meant to wipe water off — you know, like drying off after a shower,” she added. The woman in the video claims that those who have made the brave switch to organic cotton toilet paper "have loved" the change and have remarked that it is "way softer" than store-bought toilet paper as reported by New York Post. She did point out that the reusable material works best when used in conjunction with a bidet because it appears to be able to rinse the cloth. She then suggested placing all the used "paper" in a bag, washing it, and then reusing it.

In the TikTok video, the employee of Net Zero Company narrated how the product can be reused, hinting that users can soak it in vinegar before using it. After its use, it is recommended by the organization to machine wash for the best results. It was also claimed that the material of the product becomes softer with each wash. Although, web sleuths remain unconvinced about the idea and its application.

The promoter of reusable TP is a major fan, noting that "27,000 trees are cut down daily to make toilet paper," but not everyone is in agreement. “Sorry no I am all about saving the earth this is too far,” one user wrote. “I’m all for the reusable items but toilet paper is to [sic] far,” agreed another, while one naysayer crassly pondered, “Imagine you have guests and theirs [sic] skid marks on the previously used ones on the roll.” One user also emphasized the importance to avoid wastage by stating, “All the extra washing .. is that good for the environment?” One user said, "I'm all for the reusable items but toilet paper is too far." Another one added, "I bet she doesn't even use the reusable toilet paper and just uses the real one."
