LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent episode of 'MasterChef: Generations', contestant Chris Murton aka Murt faced a surprising setback when his signature dish, Chicken Mango Curry with Green Tea Cilantro Rice, Jalapeño Salsa & Crispy Chicken Skin, received scathing criticism from the judges, notably Joe Bastianich. Known for his classic curry recipe, Murt confidently presented his creation, believing it would impress as it had in the past.

However, the judges' reaction was far from favorable. Joe Bastianich famously dubbed the dish as "spicy baby food," remarking that it not only tasted like baby food but looked like it too. The critique stemmed from the overly sweet mango in the curry, which Aaron Sánchez pointed out had overwhelmed the flavors of the dish, rendering it unbalanced and lacking depth.

Additionally, the Green Tea Cilantro Rice was criticized for being under-seasoned, further contributing to what the judges described as an "epic disaster." The feedback came as a shock to Murt, who had always received praise for this dish outside the competition.

Who is Murt on 'MasterChef: Generations'?

Murt is 27 years old and comes from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He works as a commercial real estate broker but has a strong passion for cooking. Known for his outspoken and confident personality, Murt is not shy about expressing his opinions. He has made some controversial remarks about the Boomer generation, claiming they are not as intelligent or internet-savvy as younger generations, which he believes gives him an advantage in the competition.

Murt describes himself as a "wild personality" and enjoys spending his weekends on a boat. Despite his confidence, he admits that he is not at the peak of his cooking skills but still feels capable of outperforming his competitors.

During his audition on 'MasterChef: Generations,' Murt prepared a Lobster Tempura Roll with Lobster Slaw Topping and Spicy Mayo. Although he faced a setback by burning the butter, which cost him valuable time, he managed to present his dish to the judges.

Who is eliminated from 'MasterChef: Generations'?

On 'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14, Si Envytnc Nguyen was eliminated during the Mystery Box challenge. The challenge required contestants to create dishes inspired by childhood photos of themselves, aiming to evoke nostalgic comfort foods from their youth. Si chose to prepare a Vietnamese Sweet & Sour Soup with Lobster, Scallion Puree, Yuzu & Coconut Milk Broth, and Rice, a dish that reminded him of his father’s cooking after they migrated to San Jose, California.

Despite his heartfelt effort, Si's dish failed to impress the judges. The rice was overcooked, and the overall presentation was deemed more about aesthetics than flavor. Gordon Ramsay harshly likened the dish to "dishwater," emphasizing that its appearance was unappetizing.

While the broth had a good flavor, it wasn't enough to save the dish. Aaron Sánchez criticized Si for trying to impress with a fancy presentation rather than focusing on taste, and Joe Bastianich noted that the dish lacked balance and coherence.
Si found himself among the bottom three contestants of the night, alongside Murt and Daniela, for having one of the weakest dishes.
After a private discussion, the judges decided that Si’s dish was the least successful, leading to his elimination from the competition.
