‘Duck sauce killer’ Glenn Hirsch claims his INNOCENCE in suicide note, blames NYPD for 'sloppy work'
QUEENS, NEW YORK CITY: The contents of Glenn Hirsch’s suicide note have leaked, driving heavy criticism towards the Queens District Attorney's office and the New York Police Department (NYPD), as he labeled their work sloppy and ethically challenged. Hirsch, aka ‘duck sauce killer’, was to appear in court on August 5, 2022, for his hearing in the Queens Supreme Court. He was later found dead in his residence with a gunshot wound as all the signs pointed toward suicide.
Hirsch’s wife, Dorothy Hirsch, 62, was arrested for weapons charges as the police raided her home in Briarwood and found eight handguns and ammunition. The six-page-long suicide note written by Hirsch mentioned that the firearms found at his wife’s residence were stashed in tin foils and cardboard boxes without her knowledge. In one of the statements, Hirsch expressed that he moved the firearms and ammunition to his wife’s residence after closing one of his storage facilities. “I want to take full responsibility for the eight guns recovered from a closet in her apartment. I acquired these firearms years ago,” he wrote.

Hirsch was released on a $500,000 bail before he died by suicide. In his suicide note, he pointed a finger at the district attorney as he went on to end his letter with, “I’m not one who would ever willingly give up the fight. But the pain associated with this series of events is too much to bear. I haven’t made an emotional decision, but rather an intellectual one. Try as I may, I’ve analyzed the problem, and there is no solution.”
The accused has raised questions over the investigation carried out by the police department in the suicide note, claiming that he was framed wrongly due to political pressure, lack of judgment, and sloppy work. “My indictment and subsequent arrest in connection with this matter are one of the most obscene and egregious cases of defamation and wrongful arrest in recent memory. It is a textbook case of sloppy police work, confirmation bias, political pressure, and rush to judgment,” Hirsch wrote.
Hirsch has implied with his letter that he was an innocent man with a caring side and a very good sense of humor who thoroughly enjoyed life to its fullest. He was convinced that he had nothing to do with the murder of Zhiwen Yen, a father of three. Hirsch also signaled that the founder of Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa aka "notorious cat hoarder", might have something to do with the murder. “All the initial reports suggested that Mr Yan was either the unintended target and was hit by a stray bullet or this was a road rage incident and someone approached him because of an earlier incident,” Hirsch stated.
