'Dark Matter' on Apple TV+: Ill fate awaits Leighton Vance amid his secret operations at Velocity

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Conspiracies and secrets are waiting to unfold in Apple TV+'s 'Dark Matter'.
The series opened with the introduction of Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a Physics professor in Chicago, who lives a rather simple life with his wife Daniela Dessen (Jennifer Connelly), and son Charlie (Oakes Fegley).
However, one fateful night distances Jason from his beloved family. He is abducted by an alternate version of himself and is transported to another reality. Though he is already acquainted with some people in the other reality, the ongoing events shock him.
What is Leighton Vance doing at Velocity in Apple TV+'s 'Dark Matter'?
When Jason wakes up in an alternate reality, he meets Leighton Vance (Dayo Okeniyi), an old acquaintance he hasn't seen in many years. However, things are quite different here.
Leighton introduces himself as the CEO of Velocity and a long-term colleague of Jason. Jason 2 (Jason's other self), who holds the position of Chief Science Officer, was working on an experiment of Quantum Mechanics that revolves around the concept of multiple realities.
As part of his study, Jason 2 built a box that could possibly let an individual travel between different realities. Leighton is funding this extraordinary project that could bring a revolution in the field of science.
Is Leighton Vance in trouble in Apple TV+'s 'Dark Matter'?
Things were fine up until the trials of the experiment began. Three people volunteered for the experiment and never returned. One of them is Blair Caplan (Amanda Brugel), who also worked at Velocity before she went missing more than a year ago.
In 'Dark Matter' Episode 3, Detective Mason visits the Velocity premises and interrogates Leighton. After Jason's disappearance, the Detective puts together that four people at Velocity have gone missing in the last over a year.
When the Detective asks Leighton about what they do at Velocity, he misguides her with difficult lingo. However, it is just a matter of time before the Detective puts together the missing pieces of the puzzle and realizes that Leighton's organization has caused the disappearance of innocent people.
As tension rises, Leighton is desperate to understand how Jason returned believing it could unlock unsolved mysteries and validate his billion-dollar experiment as a success.
Even if he does succeed in the experiment, the danger will persist as the investigation into Daniela's murder may implicate him.
