CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: 'Dark Matter', streaming on Apple TV+, scales up the drama with mind-bending revelations in Episode 4. The series has kept the viewers engaged with the intriguing concept of alternate realities.

After Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) is abducted by his alternate self and is sent to another reality, he makes a desperate attempt to find his way back home.

'Dark Matter' Episode 3 ended with Jason and Amanda Lucas (Alice Braga) getting into the box to escape Leighton 2 and ultimately find a way back to Jason's original reality.

Episode 4 focuses on their constant attempts as they are stuck in an infinite corridor called liminal space.

Meanwhile, focus also shifts on Leighton Vance (Dayo Okeniyi) as he makes different choices in each reality.

Jason 2, who now lives in Jason's reality, is seen quitting his job as a Physics professor because he finds it too mundane. He then pays a visit to his old pal, Leighton Vance and makes a proposal.

When Leighton refuses to invest in his venture, Jason 2 decides to give him a tour of his invention.

He takes him into the box and they both land in the liminal space. Leighton is finally able to see another reality which is more beautiful than his existing one.

Jason 2 and Leighton then return to their reality and Jason 2 ends up confessing his true identity. He shares that in his reality, they both are good friends and have built the box at Velocity.

As Leighton is blown away with the revelations, he finally decides to work with Jason.

In the beginning of the episode, we saw Leighton 2 running away from his reality as things turned disastrous after Jason and Amanda's escape.

Though he enters the liminal space, he is neither able to locate Jason, nor able to find a habitable reality.

In the final moments of the episode, he is seen badly injured from his constantly trial and error method. As he is unable to understand how the box actually works, he might end up dying into the liminal space or in a post-apocalypse world.
