When will 'Young Sheldon' return with Season 4 Episode 6 'Freshman Orientation and the Inventor of the Zipper'?

'Young Sheldon' aired Season 4 Episode 5 'A Musty Crypt and a Stick to Pee On' on Thursday, December 17, 2020, and will now be taking its winter break to only return with a new episode in 2021. Season 4 Episode 6 titled 'Freshman Orientation and the Inventor of the Zipper' will air on Thursday, January 7, 2020, at 8 pm EST on CBS.
'A Musty Crypt and a Stick to Pee On' saw Dale Ballard (Craig T Nelson) and Connie "Meemaw" Tucker (Annie Potts) play a game of Dungeons and Dragons with Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) and Missy Cooper (Raegan Revord) as they work out their relationship issues. Meanwhile, Big George (Lance Barber) doesn't invite Mary Cooper (Zoe Perry) on a trip but she finds out anyway so they take a trip with Coach Wilkins (Doc Farrow) and his wife.
The highlight of the episode though is when Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) has to buy a pregnancy test for his girlfriend who thinks she's pregnant.
The official synopsis for 'Freshman Orientation and the Inventor of the Zipper' is yet to be released, but since the headline says Freshman Orientation, we would assume that Sheldon is about to start college.
So far the episodes prior have seen him try on a summer job at a train museum, learn how to ride a bike (and break his arm) so he can get to his classes on time while on campus, soothe himself so he can be independent while in college, and of course, getting punched by fellow prodigy and frenemy Paige (Mckenna Grace) at bible camp.
Due to the break, we're expecting that the cast and crew will continue filming new episodes for 2021, so hopefully, we'll have weekly episodes with no more breaks in between. Understandably though, most shows are currently taking their winter break as of now. According to FutonCritic, on Thursday, December 24, 2020, an old episode titled, 'A Boyfriend's Ex-Wife and a Good Luck Head Rub' will air.
On Thursday, December 31, 2020, another old episode titled 'A Secret Letter and a Lowly Disc of Processed Meat' will air. The following week will then bring a new episode from their current Season 4. There is no promo for the new episode 'Freshman Orientation and the Inventor of the Zipper' as of yet.
'Young Sheldon' airs on Thursdays at 8 pm EST on CBS.
