When Season 1 of 'You' hit Lifetime and later Netflix last year, it found phenomenal success through the latter. Based on Caroline Kepnes's 2014 novel of the same name, 'You' was told mainly from the perspective of Joe Goldberg (portrayed by Penn Badgley) who meets a woman, Guinevere Beck at the Mooney's bookstore and immediately becomes enamored and obsessed with her.

Set in New York, Joe stalks Beck through social media and begins to eliminate any obstacle in the path of him achieving true love with her. However, as the first season ended, he realizes that Beck will never love him and ends up killing her.

With the Season 2 dropping on Netflix on December 26, fans of the series are excited to see what this hypnotizing fictional serial killer will be up to when he returns. Season 2 will be based on the sequel to the original novel, named 'Hidden Bodies' by Caroline Kepnes, although there will be a few key differences.

The next time we see Joe, he will no longer be in New York. It might be difficult to imagine a quintessential New Yorker being outside of the city, least of all in Los Angeles where he moves to after the events of Season 1. We will see Joe hating LA and everything it stands for. Joe will be every New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles, determined that the city does not feel like home.

Though in the book he moves to LA after his girlfriend, Amy breaks his heart and steals his rare books — so he can kill her — in the show, he will be moving to the city to get over the events of Season 1. It is unlikely that we will see Amy in the upcoming episodes, though she formed a major part of his motivation.

Joe's new "interest" will be Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), an aspiring chef and health guru whose parents own a chain of grocery stores and whose brother, Forty (James Scully), Joe will have issues with. Besides them, we will also meet Calvin (Adwin Brown), whom Joe will probably be working for.

We also know at this point that Candace (Ambyr Childers) is alive, though in the books it was confirmed that she was killed by Joe. We don't know what Candace wants, but it is possible she might be blackmailing Joe over her knowledge of Joe's murders of Beck, Peach, Benji, Ron, and so on.

While Joe will try to move on with Love — who is a very different woman from Beck — the past will come to haunt him. We know that Dr Nicky (John Stamos) will recur in Season 2 and that by the end of Season 1, Peach's family had hired a private investigator to find out about Peach's killer.

Though in 'Hidden Bodies' Joe was much less of a stalker, that might not be the case in the show. In fact, EP Sera Gamble had said Season 2 will be much darker, so we can expect Joe to be back to his dastardly ways.

Season 2 of 'You' will be released on Netflix on December 26.
