'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Season 1 finale ends on a cliffhanger, leaves fans begging Hulu for Season 2
This week, the finale of what might hopefully be the first season of Hulu's 'Wu-Tang: An American Story' was released. Though initially touted as a "miniseries", the season finale left a lot to cover about the origins of the Wu-Tang Clan. Though, in reality, the first song they recorded was 'Protect Ya Neck', we see several of the members recording 'Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber', minus U-God's and Ghostface Killah's parts of course. When the episode ended, Steve Rifkind had called Bobby to ask him to work together, but Bobby was on his way to Ohio with Dennis and Shurrie following his attempted murder of Attila.
Fans are understandably upset that the first season ended on a cliffhanger, but they hope this means that a second season is possible in which they will show the members making their first album together. Many fans were pleased with the finale, with one fan writing on Reddit, "Hands down the best episode so far. I’m glad I finally got to see them rap. Especially 7th chamber out of all songs that was f****** dope!" Another fan added their thoughts on a potential second season, saying, "Word up! I hope the second season is filled with them making music. I wanna see how they came up with the 36 Chambers. And I wanna see Chef & Ghost squash the beef." One fan liked the finale but felt that the eighth episode, where Bobby records as Prince Rakeem, was the best of the season.
The casting on the show has been praised since the first three episodes released and one fan tweeted after the finale, "The casting on #WuTangOnHulu is BEYOND. If you watch the Showtime doc and compare it to the casting for the drama…ooh wee. I LOVE this series. [sic]." Another fan tweeted, "These actors are phenomenal!! Each of them deserves an award, including the show itself. Sad to see the show end! @hulu do you have a second season brewing? We need more! [sic]."
There has been no word yet on the show being renewed by Hulu or the show's producers, but seeing how 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' has been received by fans might incentivize them to "keep the party going" as one fan tweeted.
All ten episodes of the first season of 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' are now available to stream on Hulu.
