Woman stabs husband after seeing pictures of him having sex with younger woman without realizing it was her
A woman in Mexico was arrested after she reportedly stabbed her husband in rage when she found photos on his cell phone of him having sex with who she believed to be another woman, only to realize later that the woman in the old photos was actually her.
The woman, identified by the police only as Leonora R, was arrested last week in the municipality of Cajeme, Sonora in Mexico after police were summoned to the home following reports of a domestic disturbance, according to the Daily Mail, which cited local publication Dossier Politico.
According to the reports, when police officers arrived on the scene, they found Leonora's husband, identified as Juan N, had been stabbed multiple times on his arms and his legs.
The attack allegedly started after Leonora found explicit photos on her husband's cell phone, showing him having sex with whom she believed to be another woman. Leonora reportedly began stabbing Juan over and over again while hurling insults at him without giving him time to explain himself. Police said that Juan was eventually able to wrestle the knife out of Leonora's hands and asked her which photos she was referring to.
It was then that Juan explained to her that the photos were actually of him and Leonora that were taken years before when the pair were just dating. Leonora reportedly did not immediately recognize herself because the woman in the photos was younger, thinner and wearing make-up. Juan also told the police that he had explained to Leonora that he had recently found the photos in an old email and saved them to his phone where Leonora found them.
Leonora was taken into custody and remains behind bars pending charges, according to local media. The case has reportedly been referred to the Public Ministry of the State Attorney General's Office. Officials have not disclosed the details and extent of Juan's injuries. However, he was taken to the hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds and is expected to recover. Police responded to the scene after neighbors heard screaming and shouting inside the couple's home.
