It always comes off badly whenever you come across someone who isn't willing to say something to your face but has no problem speaking about you behind your back.

This is what happened with a TikTok user who went after uploading a clip of her boss talking smack behind her back when he presumably didn't know she was listening.

What actually happened?

User Samantha Rae Garcia started recording her TikTok video when she discovered that her boss was speaking ill about her and her work performance just a few feet away. However, the clip also turned into a comic one as little did Samantha's manager know that she was sitting within earshot of their backbiting.

The TikTok user appeared to take the whole thing in stride, even whispering rejoinders in the video and turning the entire situation into a comedic piece of content. The video's text overlay reads: "My boss didn't know I was right here while she was talking s*** about me," followed by a painting nails emoji. A caption attached to the now-viral TikTok reads, "I quit my job of 4 years today. I'm done with these disrespectful, hasn't had manager training in 50 years managers BYE."

How Gen Z reacts to work culture these days?

According to Business Manager Magazine, Nearly half of Gen Z respondents consider toxic work culture and excessive work pressure for quoting jobs. A user on Twitter wrote, "I resigned from my job today. Toxic workplace…be gone. Last day will be next Friday. On to bigger & better things."

Today, young workers are not lazy, entitled, or keen on slacking off, rather they're simply choosing to reject some of the practices that previous generations were forced to accept. Surveys have found that Gen Zers are less likely than their elders to go along with long hours, overbearing bosses, or a lack of boundaries between the personal and the professional. Instead, this new wave of workers is actively pushing back on the behaviors that make the workplace a toxic environment.
