A Swedish-Danish-German TV series Wisting, based on a Norwegian author's, Jørn Lier Horst bestselling detective series will air on Sundance Now, an AMC owned streaming service.  The 10 episode series bases its narrative on 'The Hunting Dogs' and 'The Caveman' that was published in the U.S. in the year 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Plot

A New York-based FBI agent, Chief Inspector William Wisting ventures out to catch a notorious serial killer. The character of the detective is based on Jørn Lier Horst novels while the storyline brings into light two of his books - 'The Hunting Dogs' and 'The Caveman.' After making a discovery at a murder scene at a Norwegian Christmas tree farm, detective Wisting discovers a connection to an American wanted serial killer. With two mysterious deaths looming over Wisting's Christmas, this is the start of a chase for the deadliest killer.

Cast

The show stars Sven Nordin, a Norwegian actor, as the lead with the portrayal of Inspector William Wisting. Nordin got his big break in 1985 WWII mini-series "Röd snö" where he plays a resistance fighter.

American actress Carrie-Anne Moss plays FBI agent Maggie Griffin and is known for her work in 'The Matrix' (1999) and its sequels. This will be one of her few portrayals of characters from book adaptations - she appeared in the Oscar-nominated film 'Chocolat' which was based on Joanne Harris's novel. Her other works include the film version of Mary Shelley’s 'Frankenstein', 'Jessica Jones', 'Daredevil' and 'Iron Fist.'

Other cast members include Richie Campbell , Thea Green Lundberg, Mads Ousdal, Gard B. Eidsvold, and Lars Berge.

The directors of the series are Trygve Allister Diesen for all 10 episodes and Katarina Launing for 5 episodes. Executive producers include Julia Angelin, Alexander Eik, Silje Hopland Eik, and Anni Faurbye Fernandez.
