Being a part of a polygamist family isn't exactly a cakewalk – between multiple wives and children, ensuring that everyone is fed and taken care of requires time, energy and effort. All of this is made plenty clear to those who decide to take on the lifestyle and join families like the ones on 'Seeking Sister Wife'. With a new season finally upon us, fans get to see some new families while welcoming the old ones, such as the Winders and the Snowdens.

For fans of the show, Colton, Tami and Sophie Winders are familiar faces. In Season 3, with Sophie expecting a baby boy soon, the women seem to be keen on finding a new sister wife. They happen to be in luck, seeing that Kimberley, a woman they've been associating with is interested in joining the family. However, could it be that Colton is the one with the cold feet? Who exactly are the Winders? Here's all that we know about them.

Who are the Winders?

A family of Mormons, the Winders consists of Colton, his first wife Tami and his second wife Sophie. Tami and Colton have a daughter together while Sophie and Colton have a son together. The family has been living a plural lifestyle since 2017. Tami and Colton grew up in the same church and although Tami didn't grow up in a plural family, it was something she felt religiously inclined towards. Colton met his second wife, Sophie via social media – they were both a part of a group that promoted the plural lifestyle.

What does Colton do for a living?

Apart from the family being a part of the 'Seeking Sister Wife' franchise, Colton is in the agricultural sector. By the look of the family's Instagram page, he quite enjoys what he does and is passionate about his work.

The family has struggled with fertility

For most plural families, having many children is the norm. For a family that's been together since 2017, it seemed odd that the Winders only have two children, a daughter from Tami and a son from Sophie. There is a lot more to their story, however, one that the wives have spoken about on the family blog. Turns out, they've both struggled with infertility.

Tami took to the Internet after their TV appearance in 2019 to address just why the family wasn't as big as normal plural households. 'As far as our family goes, we are frustrated that we have not been able to have more children yet. For some of us, it’s a lot harder than making a monthly plan. Sometimes, no matter how much we want plans to work out, they don’t and we’re left wondering why.' she detailed in a Blogpost, explicitly calling out people who offer unsolicited advice, seeing that there's a lot more to the situation than people are aware of.

Sophie even detailed just how hard it was for her to get pregnant, despite the couple's efforts. "We went through two cycles of the IUI process with no luck. At this point, my fertility doctor said that he wasn’t sure why we weren’t able to get pregnant but to just keep trying and at some point, we might be able to conceive," she said. While she did get pregnant and went on to give birth to a healthy baby boy, she also suffered a miscarriage and spoke about just how hard her journey has been. In a Blog post, she wrote 'Bringing forward pregnancy loss and miscarriage awareness, my heart goes out to all of you that have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss and infant loss. Losing your baby at any stage of pregnancy is one of the worst pains to have to endure.' She wrote.

So, is the family hoping that Kimberley, the new potential sister wife can help them grow their family? We wonder what Kimberley has to say about the same. Looks like we've to wait and see how this unfolds!
