Contains spoilers for 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2

'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 returned with a bang, and with it came a jaw-dropping MCU connection. The premiere episode introduced a new and sinister villain, Mr. Charles (Matthew Lillard), with ties to Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). With the antagonist already referenced in the season opener, the major question is whether she will appear at some point on the show.

While there are no indications yet, it's possible Val has a cameo. She previously appeared in 'Thunderbolts' after her TV series appearances in 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' and 'Hawkeye.' While brief, they established her as a key MCU character. In the movies, she appears in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' with the intent to destabilize the Wakandan government. Val gains exclusive access to the Vibranium and also reveals she funded the illegal experiments to create superheroes just as powerful as the Avengers. The outcome was Sentry (played by Lewis Pullman).

In 'Thunderbolts,' a congressional investigation puts her under the pump. She also pits all the recruited assassins: John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh)- against each other to dispose of evidence of her actions. However, they team up to form the Thunderbolts, whom Val spins to the world as the New Avengers. In 'Born Again' Season 2, her influence as a CIA director and meta-recruiter in the franchise is distinctly highlighted through the Brooklyn Red Hook port storyline. With Val having strong connections to the capsized cargo ship carrying weapons, there is every reason to believe she may appear in a future episode. After a voice-only cameo that caught fans by surprise, speculations are rife about whether she will make another Marvel TV show appearance.

For now, there is no official confirmation that Val will appear, but the plot and her involvement suggest a cameo. For now, she has a fixer in Mr. Charles, who is carrying out her orders. But with a mercurial Matt Murdock in the mix, there might come a time when Val has to get her hands in the mud to ward off any threats that hamper the CIA's plans with the weapons. 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 is streaming on Disney+ with new episodes dropping Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.
