'Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life': Why is the youngest Braxton's documentary not coming back for Season 2?
In the very first episode of 'Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life' the reality TV star and singer, in a confessional said that she was doing this documentary to take control of her life. She reiterated the same to producer, Monica Scott-Young who's also a friend of hers. However, all six episodes saw her doing the exact opposite and she was seen spiraling out of control on more than one occasion. Her priorities seemed helter-skelter both on the personal and professional front. Audiences also saw her placing too much control in her ex-fiance David Adefeso's hands and on the other hand slammed her for coming across as too bratty on the show that drew to a close on Thursday, October 15.
Tamar didn't want this show to air in the first place. After being released from the hospital post her suicide attempt, she took to Instagram to hint that WEtv had taken undue advantage of her. "Over the past 11 years there were promises made to protect and portray my story, with the authenticity and honesty I gave. I was betrayed, taken advantage of, overworked, and underpaid. I wrote a letter over 2 months ago asking to be freed from what I believed was excessive and unfair. I explained in personal detail the demise I was experiencing. My cry for help went totally ignored. However, the demands persisted. It was my spirit, and my soul that was tainted the most," read the caption of a post she shared on Instagram. Shortly after, WEtv initiated the process to honor her requests to be let go. In a statement they said that they “will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network," according to a Variety report.
Tamar is the second-highest-paid reality TV star in the history of WEtv, after her own sister Toni Braxton. "Tamar Braxton has been an important part of our network family for more than a decade. As she focuses on her health and recovery at what is clearly a difficult and personal time, we will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network. We wish her nothing but the best,” read the WE tv statement about letting her go on her request. So to answer the question if 'Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life' will return for Season 2, it's a clear no. Tamar will still be a part of a couple of episodes of 'Braxton Family Values' Season 7 that begins airing in November. She'd shot for these episodes before her suicide attempt and the comments she made post coming out of the hospital.
