LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's most-watched series will be back sooner than you expected. 'Squid Game' or '오징어 게임' as translated in Korean, is a South Korean "survival of the fittest" drama series created by  Hwang Dong-hyuk for the Channel. The series storyline tells a tale of a secret game show contest that brings 456 players, the ideal target being people tangled in financial issues or hardships. The game is inspired by an actual kid's game in South Korea, but with a sick and deadly twist to it. Now, as we wait for the second season to drop, there are hints that a major part of season 2 might be a repeat of the story arc from Season 1.

The original cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung. The series idea came to be because of the past financial struggles of the creator and his way of portraying the harsh and dark side of class disparity in  South Korea.

The main plot of season 2 will be REVENGE

Season 2 of 'Squid Game' is in the works and will probably grace your TV screens by the end of 2023 or early 2024. It is quite exciting to think about what the creators have in store for us with season 2. The lead actor Lee Jung-jae revealed Season 2 may be all about revenge, according to Screenrant. "The main plot of season 2 will be revenge, and the key figure who controlled the workings of the games in season 1 was Lee Byung Hun sunbae." The conclusion of Squid Game was the idea of believing in humanity and fellow human being, eradicating the idea of people being evil. The best character development that happened was of Lee Jung-jae's "Seong Gi-hun". But, as soon as he understood the idea of people being more important than money, he will once again fall over into the hole of the deadly game to seek revenge on Oh Il-nam, who is revealed to be the antagonist of the story and the brains behind the game. The idea for Oh Il-nam to create the game was because he believed people were not inherently good and that was his way to prove that.

The game isn’t over for Gi-hun

The best part of 'Squid Game' is the background story of each player. It is interesting to know that all of them went through something in their life that made them think about people in an ill way along with the financial problems that lead them toward the game. The thing that kept them there was the fact that they all thought about humanity being a dead element of the world. Season 2 will be all about revenge and learning for Gi-hun, and it may or may not have the game angle to it.

After accidentally winning the game in the end, we see Gi-hun change his entire personality, from dressing style to coloring his head to a bright anime red. While he is seen playing the game, his wife, now married to another man, and his daughter move to the US. To create and fix a broken bond, Gi-hun plans to go to the States to see her daughter, but fate has something else in store for him. Yes, you guessed it right, it's REVENGE.
