Kanye West vs Universal: Rapper alleges label released 'Donda' against his will
Kanye West is angry and he's letting the world know about it. He's back to social media posting, no, he's not back on Twitter yet. We kind of miss his contextless ranting on the platform and we will wait for when he gets back to it. But the fact remains that he's angry and he's using Instagram as a platform to vent and rant about what's bothering him. At present, it's Universal Music Group that has incited his wrath after the label allegedly dropped the album like it's hot on August 29.
So why is Kanye angry you ask? After three album-listening parties (read: superspreader?) and making a fortune worth millions through concert merchandise, it appears Kanye still didn't want to release his much-anticipated album 'Donda' which is titled after his mother. Speaking of the album, we have covered the reactions of fans who devoured the album when it dropped. The 27-track album has seemingly failed to impress audiences who think it's mediocre music he's put out, except for 'Jesus Lord', that's hitting fans differently and they're all thinking about how much they love their mama's which is very endearing, in our opinion. However, after the much-awaited release, other artists are also complaining that Kanye did them dirty by not including them in, Soulja Boy claimed his verse was missing from the album while Chris Brown posted 'Kanye is a whole h*e' on Instagram and then deleted it.

Will Kanye West sue Universal Music Group?
Kanye, or Ye as he's now officially known as took to Instagram to share a note with his fans, letting them know he was not in on the decision to release the album. On Saturday, August 28, he shared a screenshot of his chat with Dababy telling him his manager was not clearing his verse on 'Jail', and when the album was released, it did without the homophobic rapper's feature. Coming back to Ye's disappointment with UMG the label, Kanye wrote, " UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM."
Kanye is not happy, and if we go back in time to 2020 and remember when he went all anti-industry and went on a rant against recording contracts, it wouldn't be wrong to assume a storm is brewing. Now if we go back to 2019, Kanye had sued Universal Music and EMI over record contracts and song publishing and sought an unspecified amount in damages. Coming back to the present, Kanye has claimed he's got a problem with UMG for publishing his whole damn album, his money machine, without his sign of approval. So there should be no surprises if Kanye goes the legal route yet again.
As for 'Jail 2', no one asked, but here are our two cents on it. Kanye is an entrepreneur, and he knows how to secure a bag. If our assumption is correct, he will be back at it, hosting several listening parties for the track across the country. But these are strictly assumptions, and we will be right here waiting for them to turn into reality as and when it happens.
