Many reports emerged on Wednesday evening, January 6, stating that several members of POTUS Donald Trump's cabinet are contemplating the possibility of removing him from office. It is said that members of Trump's cabinet have been considering his removal after violence broke out in Washington DC and saw a mob of Trump supporters breaching the Capitol.

Publications such as CBS News and ABC News have reported that cabinet secretaries have been discussing the idea. However, no formal or official plan of the decision has been presented to Vice President Mike Pence. Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan shared, "I'm talking about actual members of the Cabinet."

The House Judiciary Committee, which is controlled by the Democrat Party, has called on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office. The letter read: "President Trump remained silence even as insurrections broke windows, threatened US Capitol Police, and scaled the walls of the Capitol."

"Earlier in the morning, President Trump held a rally at the White House and told protesters ‘I’ll be with you’ and encouraged them to march to the Capitol to protest the certification of the electoral college votes," the letter continued. House Judiciary Committee Democrats also said, "Even in his video announcement this afternoon, President Trump revealed that he is not mentally sound and is still unable to process and accept the results of the 2020 election."

"President Trump's willingness to incite violence and social unrest to overturn the election results by force clearly meet this standard." Even his recent tweets, which Twitter has since deleted, say the election was "stolen" and that the riots "are the things and events that happen".

The 25th Amendment requires that the vice president and a majority of principal officers of executive departments or a body like Congress may by law inform the Congress that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Should the 25th Amendment be invoked, Trump would be removed from office and Pence would take over. Recent news saw that Congress couldn't help but take a recess since MAGA supporters bombarded Capitol Hill.

According to Daily Mail, the head of the National Association of Manufacturers, Jay Timmons, released a statement where he dubbed the MAGA breach as "mob rule" and called it "dangerous". He said, "Vice President Pence, who was evacuated from the Capitol, should seriously consider working with the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to preserve democracy."

Trump had urged his supporters and followers to storm the Capitol and attacked Republicans who opposed his effort to overturn the election results, calling them "weak". There was a lot of violence that broke out at the Capitol post a rally that Trump held before the Electoral College certification. A mob of MAGA supporters broke into the Capitol building, broke windows, attacked law enforcement officers and also forced members of Congress to evacuate or take shelter. Many members of the administration have reportedly resigned, Daily Wire states.

A reporter Nancy Cook took to Twitter to say, "At least three WH aides resigned today including White House social secretary Rickie Niceta, top FLOTUS aide Stephanie Grisham and Sarah Matthews, a deputy in the press office. Many more resignations potentially to come, as aides and R’s try to distance themselves from today."
