Will Demi Moore be in ‘Landman’ Season 3? What we know so far after Billy Bob Thornton’s cryptic update

The recently aired season two finale of the hit Paramount+ show 'Landman' set the stage for what's to come. While the impending third instalment of the Taylor Sheridan show has already been greenlit, speculation surrounding the ultimate fate of the leading characters has recently up for debate. This is partly owing to the dramatic finale episode, which ushered in a new phase in Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris as he ventured out on his own. Most notably, the status of the relationship between Tommy and Cami Miller, played by Demi Moore, remains an intriguing puzzle.

As reported by ScreenRant, Cami fired Tommy from his preeminent position as the acting president of the M-Tex oil company. Tommy had been holding the title of the acting president ever since the death of the former incumbent, Monty, played by Jon Hamm, who also happened to be Cami's late husband and a friend of Tommy. The inherent power struggle in which the two were locked was fuelled by Cami's apprehension regarding Tommy's popularity within the ranks of the workers and their disagreement over the offshore oil drilling deal.

In this scenario, the finale episode saw Tommy running helter-skelter to set up an oil drilling operation of his own. He was eventually able to save the day by establishing the new company CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, in association with his son, Cooper Norris, and his father, T.L. In doing so, Norris was able to strike a deal with the cartel boss Gallino and even poached several important investors over from M-Tex. This did the trick, and Cami was visibly shaken as she was now faced with the unenviable choice of either selling her company or running into ruin.

At the time of writing this article, neither Sheridan nor the network has made any significant comment about Moore's participation in the upcoming third season. Nevertheless, Moore is certainly expected to appear in the show's future instalments as she's the primary antagonist now and stands to lose the most from Norris's independent operation.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Thornton was asked whether Cami will play a crucial role in the next season, to which the veteran actor replied, "I think it would be a good idea to keep that character going. Once again, I don't know. I have no clue. For all I know, an oil rig will fall on me, and I'll only be in the first half of the first episode. I have no idea. But I like that dynamic (between Cami and Tommy) in the show very much. This is the wife of my best friend (played by Jon Hamm), who has died. We've known each other for a long time. What's interesting about that is to see how, when money or business comes in, that can really throw a wrench into those kinds of friendships." 'Landman' is exclusively available on Paramount+.
