LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian's TikTok account with daughter North West was briefly suspended on April 6 amid reports that the nine-year-old is looking to 'take a break' from social media. The popular TikTok page has suddenly vanished, and while it may be merely temporary, there's a risk it's gone forever.
Kim and her firstborn created their joint TikTok account, @kimandnorth, in November 2021. The mother-daughter combo has amassed over 15 million followers since joining the platform. Their account has a wide range of videos, including pranks, fashion, skincare, dance routines, and more. North's videos tend to become viral because of their innovative, young, and dynamic nature. Her most recent viral video had her dancing to Ice Spice's song "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2."

Why did North shut down account temporarily?
When fans went to access the page on Thursday, they were met with a notice that stated, "Couldn't find this account." A family insider, though, offered some additional insight on what transpired, saying to TMZ that North made the decision and she simply wants to try something new.
According to the source, "North has been more interested in focusing her creativity in other areas lately and is taking a break from TikTok. Like most kids, interests change often, so she may be back on as early as tomorrow — or never again."
Understandably, North was as much (if not more) of a driving force behind the account than Kim, so it's reasonable if she's not feeling it. Kim recently took her children to Japan, so its conceivable North discovered fresh creative inspiration there and chose to abandon the app.
Since its inception, the @kimandnorth account has not only amassed millions of followers, but has also served as a platform for major celebrity guest appearances, most famously Ice Spice.
'Don't have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok'
During a tirade at his ex-wife in January 2022, North's father and Kim's ex-husband, troubled rapper Kanye West, made it obvious that he was not okay with his daughter's life being aired on social media. "Tell her don't have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok and don't have her on TikTok at all if I don't approve that," he told Hollywood Unlocked last year, "and I said it after it was done without me knowing, and it happened again. So I feel like there's some poking the bear, trying to antagonize me or create this, like, 'crazy' narrative. Because to say someone is crazy, they're trying to take the power away and do anything to get people to not pay attention to me."
In an Instagram Stories post in February 2022, Kardashian reacted, alleging that her problematic ex was attempting to dominate and manipulate her with public comments about TikTok. "As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children," she explained. "I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision - because it brings her happiness," she added.
"Divorce is difficult enough on our children," she said, "and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all." Kim has four children with her third ex-husband, Kanye West, whom she divorced in February 2021.
