SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: Sam McKinney, the antagonist of 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, was ultimately removed by Jenn Tran, but not before he made a crazy remark about Daisy Kent and Maria Georgas, her co-stars from Season 28 of 'The Bachelor', demonstrating that the show never gave a damn about Jenn. When Jenn asked him about his initial impression of her during their one-on-one time on the radio program group date, he said, "It's a testament to this process that I almost didn't even come here."

He also said he thought, "This girl is not my type," as soon as he stepped out of the vehicle. "I thought the Bachelorette was gonna be Daisy or Maria."

Given how heavily edited 'The Bachelorette' is, it would have been quite simple for the producers to exclude Sam's remark on Daisy and Maria. But because this chat marked the beginning of the end of Sam and Jenn's relationship, it's clear that they were trying to stir up some drama and make Sam look bad.

This late in Jenn's season, it was utterly needless for the producers to revisit the Daisy and Maria dispute, which showed their lack of concern for her in the first place.

Naturally, Jenn was a little taken aback, and everyone was perplexed. Sam insisted that he trusted the process and that he wanted a family, but Jenn countered that while everyone aspires to true, long-lasting love, that doesn't always imply that the two of them are a good fit.

She inquired as to what it was about her that gave him hope for a meaningful relationship. When he mentioned her selflessness, she pushed back and questioned how he could know.

"You're either selfless or full of s**t," he remarked. "One or the other."

Why did Jenn Tran eliminate Sam McKinney from 'The Bachelorette' Season 21?

When Sam struggled to explain why he wanted to propose to her, Jenn knew at last that he wasn't the appropriate man for her. As evidence that their connection was primarily sexual, he kissed her instead.

Jenn informed the filmmakers that when Sam told her, "I love you," it was simply words. Jenn didn't think Sam saw her, understood her, or knew her.

She didn't want to return to the relationship from her past that her relationship with Sam brought to mind. Jenn said that Sam didn't really try to get to know her and that their connection was primarily sexual after she sent him home.

Sam McKinney continued to fight with Devin Strader during his 'The Bachelorette' journey

In addition to his treatment of Jenn, Sam was a bully to the other competitors and so deserved to be eliminated from 'The Bachelorette' Season 21. In his confessionals, he frequently used strong and violent language, threatening to split Devin Strader in two and to tread on his neck if it was a competition.

Jenn saw through Sam's frequent claims that his purpose was to "keep the main thing, the main thing," despite his insistence on the contrary.

Where is Sam McKinney now after 'The Bachelorette' Season 21?

If you enjoy doing social media detective work, you probably already knew that Sam was going to depart 'The Bachelorette'—and not in good shape. In response to a TikTok user's video concerning his behavior on the show, Sam said, "Context context context..."

In a second video, he went into further detail. Sam really concurred with the user's remark that "something went wrong" with his activities during Week 3.

"Most felt like that, and rightfully so. I even felt like that."

He remarked, perhaps pointing the finger at the show's editing, "It was incredibly disheartening to be portrayed in that fashion." Sam expressed his hope that during Men Tell All, "the truth will come out," but he was hesitant to reveal too much before then.

“Oh, and legally, I’m not allowed to speak on it… and now I’m figuring out why,” he noted.

Sam is not the only one who thinks his cut from 'The Bachelorette' was deceptive. In a preview of Jenn and Sam's one-on-one, when the Season 21 star was anxious about leaping off Auckland's Sky Tower, Hannah, his sister, shared her concerns.

You recall that Jenn claimed to be "terrified" of jumping, while Sam claimed not to be "reading [her] emotions at all." Hannah, nevertheless, tagged the show and commented, saying, "Let’s see all the footage ... I’m waiting."

In a conversation with another commenter, she elaborated on her ideas and seemed to imply that the tower date wasn't the whole story. “Again, they only show you the scenes that they want you to see… remember a lot is taken out of context, and not everything is shown before you go talking about bad behavior,” she penned.

Hannah also stated that her brother "isn't a bully and never has been." In addition to social media support, Sam's family has been there for him in the month after production ended, from watching 'The Bachelorette' together to spending time exploring the great outdoors.

“What I’ve learned is to chase what fills your heart,” he wrote alongside one recent post. “And chase it with a fire that illuminates your soul.” As Sam exited Jenn's Bachelorette season, he pledged to "keep the main thing the main thing" and find the right person to spend his life with.
