Why is 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 Episode 15 not airing this week? Here's what to expect when ABC show returns
Fans were in for a shock and one very pleasant surprise on the last episode of 'Grey's Anatomy'. Dr Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) announced his plans to move to Boston, thus marking his exit from the show, to run his family's foundation to promote racial equity in healthcare. It was also the episode that Japril fans had been waiting for all through the season and good things certainly do come to those who wait.
When Jackson makes his rather impulsive decision to move to Boston, he realizes he absolutely cannot go without his daughter Harriet. This is when he visits April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and tries to convince her to move with him to Boston, along with Harriet and April's husband Matthew (Justin Bruening). However, after several conversations between Jackson and April over a stormy night, it finally comes to light that April and Matthew are no longer together and that she and Harriet will go to Boston with Jackson. Fans are dying to see what happily ever after looks like for Japril and how the team at Grey Sloan Memorial will take Jackson's decision. But fans will have to wait till May 20 to find out, in the episode which will be Jackson's last on 'Grey's Anatomy'.

In the last episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' we saw Jackson show up at April's doorstep with a rather impulsive plan to move to Boston to take over his family's foundation. It was a reunion that fans had been waiting for, but initially, at least it didn't seem to be quite the romantic reunion fans had desired. April initially can't understand what Jackson's plans of moving to Boston have to do with her. But when she realizes that Jackson expects her to uproot her life, so that she and Harriet can also move to Boston, she not surprisingly gets rather annoyed. Jackson in an attempt to mollify April, says that he will get both April and husband Matthew jobs at the foundation.
April, however, feels this sounds like just another one of Jackson's whims. But arguments and a sick child cannot come in the way of Japril. After several heated discussions like only Jackson and April can have, the truth emerges that April and Matthew are no longer together. April then tells Jackson much to the joy of fans that she and Harriet will come with him to Boston.
