DALLAS, TEXAS: Tiffany Gomas, the woman behind the viral plane video, recently took to social media to issue an apology for her actions during the July 2 incident.

"I apologize and take accountability for my actions, they were uncalled for," Gomas wrote on Twitter alongside a video. "My very worst moment was captured on video," she added.

"Although the memes have been amusing, the flipside has been cruel," she said about going viral. "I’m thankful for my friends and family for supporting me through this," Gomas continued.

"This experience has been life-altering and I hope to do good from it and promote positive mental health. Stay tuned!" she stated before adding a link to her official website.

Gomas began her apology video with an introduction saying, "Hi everyone! This is Tiffany Gomas, probably better known as the "crazy plane lady," which is completely warranted.

"As you know I have been unwilling to speak on the viral video but I do finally feel that it's time," she began. "First and foremost, I want to take full accountability for my actions, they were completely unacceptable," Gomas admitted.

"Distressed or not I should have been in control of my emotions and that was not the case. My use of profanity was completely unnecessary and I wanna apologize to everyone on that plane, especially those who had children aboard," she shared.

"Can't imagine going through to that and explaining to your kid, 'what in the world just happened,'" Gomas said. "We all have our bad moments, some far worse than others," she continued.

"And mine happened to be caught on camera for the whole world to see multiple times," Gomas mentioned as tears formed in her eyes, before adding, "Sorry. I am trying not to sound like Minnie Mouse," with a laugh.

"Well it has been very comical for everyone and I have highly enjoyed," she said about the memes made out of her meltdown.

However, Gomas pointed out, "On the flip side, it is very invasive and unkind, and I don't know what I would do without the love and support of my friends and family."

"I hope that I can use this experience and do a little bit of good in the world, and that is what I intend to do," she further shared.

"I hope that you guys can accept my apology and I can begin to move on with my life," Gomas concluded.

On July 2, Gomas boarded American Airlines Flight 1009 from Dallas, Fort Worth to Orlando, Florida, and became the subject of a major meltdown that later went viral online.

The video recorded by one of Gomas' fellow passengers and posted on YouTube by user Olivia Po was largely circulated on social media, making Gomas viral in the process.

Gomas' distressed tirade reportedly began after she had an argument with a relative, who she claimed stole her AirPods. Shortly after, she claimed that the plane was not safe, compelling the staff to de-board the flight to re-screen the passengers and aircraft.

"The female then started claiming the aircraft was not safe and did not want the aircraft to leave due to her believing it would not make it to its destination," the police report mentioned.

In the viral video, a visibly distraught Gomas could be seen making hand gestures and pointing towards the aisle while yelling "Stop the f***ing plane. Stop the f***ing plane, stop the plane."

As flight attendants attempted to calm her down, Gomas could be seen saying, "I need to get the f*** off this plane right now."

Throughout the meltdown video, Gomas could be seen arguing with the crew members and refusing to return to her seat before saying, "That motherf***er back there is not real," referring to a person at the back of the plane.

The phrase went on to become viral, prompting a barrage of memes as well as a string of merchandise, and also led to Gomas being nicknamed the "crazy plane lady" on social media.

Who was the 'man' Tiffany Gomas talking about?

In the viral airplane rant video, Gomas could repeatedly be seen seemingly referring to a man, allegedly seated towards the back of the aircraft.

As one of the attendants asked Gomas to return to her seat, she refused the order saying, "I’m not sitting by that man."

At one point, Gomas could be seen pointing towards the back of the airplane and stating, "I'm getting the f**k off because there is a stupid f***ing dude on here."

She further addressed the man, exclaiming, "that motherf***r back there is not real… You can sit on this plane and you can f***ing die with them or not. I’m not going to."

At the time of writing, the identity of the "man" who became one of the reasons behind Gomas' meltdown remains unidentified.

According to the New York Post, a separate TikTok video of the incident allegedly claimed to show the person Gomas was seen arguing with before her meltdown. However, the person remained unidentified in the footage.

Several social media users took to Twitter to react to Gomas' apology video. "Nobody is mad at you - we all thought the plane video was epic and iconic. You have nothing to apologize for," one commented.

"Teeball, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I’m a youth football coaching legend, and I applaud you for calling out your haters on planes. Hell, I’ve falsely accused youth football coaches of having alcohol on their breath. You keep doing you," added another.

"On behalf of everyone on that plane and on the internet: I forgive you Tiffany," a third user wrote on Twitter.

One said, "You entertained so many, take advantage of this. Don’t take the woah is me route. Thank you @Alphafox78 for making her cool."

Another added, "Hi Tiffany. No need to apologize you did everything right by trying to alert other passengers of a perceived threat. I would just like to know what you saw/meant when you said the person was not real."
