Why did Lori Greiner invest in Flora? 'Shark Tank' investor offers deal to $3 million cash burning company
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Flora is essentially a plant sensor that informs you how much moisture, temperature, and light each bloom needs. Aabesh De, the founder of Flora, pitched his concept on 'Shark Tank' Season 15 and secured a deal with Lori Greiner.
Aabesh entered the Tank and requested $300,000 for 10 per cent equity from the Sharks. Flora is a sensor system for plants.
Robert Herjavec stated that he is not a plant enthusiast and hence would not invest. Mark Cuban claimed the same thing, but he declined to invest.
Barbara Corcoran stated that she loves the product but cannot invest in this firm. Kevin O'Leary stated that he does not care about plants and would not make any deals.
Lori offered $300,000 for 30 per cent equity. Aabesh countered the offer with $300,000 for 15 per cent equity + 5 per cent advisory share + $2 royalty for each unit till the whole $300,000 was paid. Lori loved the founder so much that she accepted the offer.

Flora sells gardening supplies. As of this writing, all Flora goods, including the Flora Pod, are available for purchase on the company's official website and Amazon Prime.

Who is the founder of Flora?
Aabesh began his professional career after earning Bachelor's degrees from Indiana University Bloomington and Esade. Despite his lofty goals for the future, he began his work as a Fundraising Director at DECA - Munster High School Chapter.
Then, for over a year, from 2013 to 2014, he changed employment every few months. During this time, he served as a Volunteer Lab Technician at Zelhof Genetics Lab, Treasurer at Alpha Sigma Phi - Gamma Chi Chapter, Technology Consultant at Pinnacle School, and Student Speaker at Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Aabesh was also a Co-Founder of the Global Scholars Program before landing a position as Project Manager - Public Relations at IU College Luminaries. His first long-term position was with Kelley Without Borders, where he served as President.
Following that, he worked briefly for Deloitte as a Business Technology Analyst Intern, Othernet as an Account Associate, and Medline Industries, Inc. as a Business Analyst. Before joining Flora, Aabesh worked as a Sales Engineering Manager at Reverb.com and a Customer Success Account Manager at Microsoft.
In 2016, he created his first firm, Legasus Media, which is still going strong today. Then, in August 2021, he formally founded Flora, and the rest is history.
