LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following his performance on 'American Idol' Season 22, Kimi became so emotional that tears welled up. His rendition of "Heal" by Tom Odell was heartfelt. Overwhelmed with emotion, he apologized to the judges, conveying the depth of his feelings during the impactful moment on stage.

The judges recognized Kimi's strong vocal abilities but felt he chose the wrong song. Luke Bryan acknowledged that Kimi might have made a misstep in selecting "Heal". To give him another chance to showcase his talent, they suggested he go with his second option, "Love in the Dark" by Adele.

Kimi excelled in his rendition of "Love in the Dark", leaving the judges profoundly impressed. Their positive reaction was evident as they collectively gave him a unanimous "yes." This means Kimi will advance to the next stage in Hollywood, as more of his journey will unfold on the ABC show.

Who is 'American Idol' Season 22 star Kimi?

Kimi is originally from Kosovo and is currently residing in Brooklyn. He worked as a restaurant server before his audition on "Idol." Leaving his family back in Kosovo and living alone in the US sure took a toll on him, but he tried to navigate through it through singing.

After securing a ticket to Hollywood, he now has additional reasons to continue living in the US as he will be progressing to further rounds in Hollywood. This development marks a significant milestone in his journey, opening up new opportunities and possibilities in the American music scene.

In a heartfelt statement to ABC7, he expressed, "I want them to know that they are not alone. Sometimes you are going through things and they don't talk about it, they think that it is wrong, some people do talk about it, and some people decide to take their own lives, just like I wanted to, two years ago. So, I just want to connect to people through my music."
