AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan is popularly known for his explosive podcast where he and his guests discuss current events, humor, politics, philosophy, science, and hobbies. The podcaster once received a recommendation to invite the controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate, which he refused to entertain.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Centre (SPLC), conspiracy theorist Alex Jones wanted to convince the UFC commentator to host Tate on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' through text message.

'He's been trying to get on my podcast'

The SPLC received the text chat from a phone that belonged to Jones, according to Insider. Rogan said calmly, "Yeah he's been trying to get on my podcast for a while." Rogan wrote in a text to Jones, per the SPLC, "I'm way over booked right now."

Jones, who recommended Tate, responded, "I am not his agent;) just passing info on."

Rogan acknowledged Tate on his podcast, comparing him to a professional wrestler putting on a show. He added that Tate makes money through an intense internet persona and is a "very smart guy."

'Recommend me for his podcast'

Tate messaged Jones requesting him to ask Rogan to get him on the podcast. His text read, "If you could drop joe a txt and recommend me for his podcast I would appreciate it." Jones later shared Tate's contact information with Rogan.

"I have known this guy a few years," Jones texted Rogan. "He lives in Transylvania and is a really good guest. He is a long time fan of yours and said in the past you followed him on Twitter," he added.

Jones appeared on Rogan's podcast twice, once in 2017 and again in 2020, where he explored odd conspiracy theories such as the unfounded assertion that politicians were in charge of the COVID-19 pandemic. Several times during the show, Rogan had to fact-check Jones.
