MOSCOW, IDAHO: As more details emerge regarding the horrific killings of four University of Idaho students on November 13, 2022, a bizarre internet theory claims that Bryan Kohberger, the suspect under custody, may not have been the killer. Kohberger was arrested from his parents' house in Pennsylvania, thousands of miles away from the murder site, in connection with the killings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin.

Experts believe DNA evidence including traces of the victims' blood and skin in Bryan Kohberger's Hyundai Elantra would be enough to put the quadruple murder suspect on death row. Other pieces of evidence against him include a knife sheath that was found at the crime scene and had his DNA on it.

YouTuber asks why knife wasn't unsheathed

As Kohberger, a 28-year-old criminology student, awaits trial in connection to the quadruple murder case that shook the entire country last year, a YouTuber has claimed, albeit without any proof except her astrology skills, that Kohberger is not the person behind the killings. The YouTuber, who goes by the name Miss Jenny, and posts on the channel Down To Earth Astrology, averred, "Bryan Kohberger may be exactly the wrong person you are looking for." She supplemented her opinion by questioning why someone with an intent to kill would keep their weapon sheathed. "Who the hell would be carrying their knife still sheathed as they approached their victim instead of carrying it in their hand unsheathed and ready to go? Better yet, why would they carry the sheath at all?" she asked.

Commenting on her post, one user wrote, "The killer would have kept knife in sheath on his belt until he entered the home, he would have taken knife out of sheath once inside and right before striking." "Wondering about receipt found in his apt for “dickies” -if coveralls “Pockets keep all your tools where you need them, while full-length zippers mean there’s no struggles getting your gear on and off..front bib pockets; two back patch pockets; small tool pocket at side leg,” wrote another user. "The DNA found on the Sheath, was only a tiny bit of touch evidence, which will come under scrutiny at the Trial. Unknown at this point in time if more evidence linked to the crime scene, was found back at Kohberger's house," opined a third.

Evidence against Bryan Kohberger

As per the probable cause affidavit released on January 5, the evidence against Kohberger includes his phone data that suggested that he was in the area where the murders took place at least 12 times before the killings. On January 18, police revealed the evidence they recovered from Kohberger's Washington apartment, which included possible animal hair strands, disposable gloves, and items with red and brown stains.

Apart from these, the strongest circumstantial evidence against the Idaho suspect was his vehicle, a white Hyundai Elantra that was reportedly seen driving past the slain students' home on the day of and after the murders, and the knife sheath with his DNA on it.
