Former President Barack Obama’s upcoming memoir ‘A Promised Land’ is said to shed light on his bitter relationship with former First Lady of United States Hillary Clinton. Reportedly, his team had even come up with a nickname for Clinton on who Obama has spoken in his autobiography.

A publishing source told The Sun that in ‘A Promised Land’, Obama describes how, by February 2008, Clinton knew she would lose, yet she continued to campaign. “Obama writes about how by February 2008 it should have been obvious to Hillary that she was fighting a losing battle - but she would not give up,” read the statement by the book insider.

“He says he admired her tenacity but his admiration only extended so far. He describes how his campaign manager, David Plouffe, called Clinton 'a f**king vampire. You can’t kill her off'," added the source.

They further revealed that after losing the nomination against Obama, Clinton was pursuing him for a job at the Democratic party for its “good” and even insisted on being a “team player”.

However, Obama is said to have had his reservations about picking her as his vice-presidential running mate as it would require him to nominate Bill Clinton as his Second Man. "He describes in the book how he was worried it would be awkward to have a former president wandering around the West Wing and gave the job to Joe Biden. After his victory, Hillary became his secretary of state,” revealed the source.

The memoir also touches upon Obama’s biter clash with Clinton, which ensued after her New Hampshire co-chair Billy Shaheen tried portraying the former president as a drug dealer.

Obama had tried marijuana and cocaine prior to entering politics, which he had revealed in a book from 1995, called 'Dreams From My Father'. He had also admitted to not trying heroin as he didn’t like the peddler who tried selling him the drug.

In his upcoming book, he has reportedly complained about Shaheen falsely telling media that he dealt with drugs. The book is expected to comprise excerpts that talk about Clinton’s apology to Obama for Shaheen’s comments. "Obama describes how Hillary apologized to him for the comment when they bumped into each other as they waited for their campaign planes to take off from a Washington airport," the source stated.

The insider explained further, “But then she became agitated and started attacking him, claiming Obama's campaign team was engaging in 'unfair' attacks and 'underhanded tactics'." According to reports, Obama has also mentioned Donald Trump, talking about his alleged comments about Obama not being qualified enough to hold office as he was born in Kenya.

The book further has details about Trump reaching out to him during his presidency to offer help with the plugging of the Deepwater Horizon. The source said, “Obama talks about how in 2010, during the Deepwater Horizon crisis, Trump called the White House out of the blue and asked if he could be put in charge of plugging the Deepwater Horizon well.”

However, the offer is said to have been declined by Obama as he found it “too hard to take Trump too seriously.”
