MONTGOMERY, OHIO: Authorities have identified the skeletal remains that were found in an Ohio river in June and confirmed that it belonged to a man who disappeared a few months earlier.

On Thursday, November 2, according to records, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the remains pulled from the Great Miami River as that of Vernon Seidler.

As per their report, the coroner's office said that the cause and manner of Seidler's death are undetermined.

How was Vernon Seidler identified?

"Identity is determined to be Vernon Seidler, a 46-year-old male, by DNA comparison following the publication of a large tattoo on the decedent's back resulting in the location of the decedent's family," the report stated.

Vernon Seidler was reported missing in March

According to the Huber Heights Police in a March 30 Facebook post, Seidler was reported missing on March 15 after his family members and girlfriend said he had not been seen nor heard from since February 23. At the time, the police asked the public’s help for information on his whereabouts.

On June 30, kayakers discovered a body in the water near Dayton Cincinnati Pike and Shephard Road, the Dayton Daily News reported, and five Rivers MetroParks rangers responded to the scene.

Mark Hess, MetroParks chief of public safety explained that the body had experienced major decomposition and a supervisor at the scene described the body to CBS affiliate WHIO as “skeletal."

Vernon Seidler's body was found inside the chimney a month after pleas for help went unanswered

Meaww previously reported that the body of 29-year-old Zachariah Andrews was discovered concealed within a Nebraska house chimney, nearly a month after eerie cries for help had echoed throughout the building.

The tragic incident unfolded on October 19 when a maintenance worker, responding to a noxious odor emanating from the chimney, stumbled upon a gruesome sight - human shoes protruding from the narrow shaft.

The eerie discovery raised unsettling questions surrounding Andrews' death and the unanswered pleas for help heard within the apartment building where he met his tragic end.

Adding an eerie layer to this grim narrative, the day after Andrews was last seen, a concerned resident inside the apartment complex made a frantic call to the Norfolk Police. They claimed to have heard distressing screams for help, seemingly emanating from the building's first floor.

In a statement, the police explained, "The resident reported that he heard a man yelling for help and that it appeared to be coming from the first floor," norfolkne.gov reports.
