Linus, an adorable dog who was popular on Twitter by the username @AmazingLinus, passed away on January 19, leaving hundreds of his Twitter fans heartbroken. Linus was 13-years-old at the time of his death. His pet parents have requested their Twitter followers to allow them time for grieving.

Who was Linicious Poot?

Linus, whose full name was Linicious Poot, was a mixed breed of Chow Chow, German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, Shar-Pei, and Samoyed. The cute, black canine was adopted by a loving family from Georgia, USA. Karen and Andy adopted Linus as a little puppy way back in 2008, and he had become an integral part of their family ever since.

Karen and Andy opened a Twitter account for Linus in 2019, and the ‘good boy’ was greeted by followers worldwide with a warm welcome. His Twitter bio read - “Just an older pup looking for friends and love.”

In two years, Linus’ account gained nearly 9,000 followers, who regularly interacted and shared his photos and videos. The dog was known for his shenanigans around the house and his lovable nature. His posts, uploaded by the pet parents, were mostly funny and adorably hilarious.

Linus felt unwell

In the past few days, Linus was reportedly feeling more tired and uneasy than usual, as his parents tweeted.

“Feeling poorly today pals, but momma says a promise is a promise and so the kitchen has turned into a biscuit factory and I am watching momma from across the room while she dances, sings, and bakes. The biscuits are supposed to be fire hydrants and the brown is melted cheese,” read a tweet from his account on January 17.

Twitter pours in love for Linus

On January 19, around 9:30 PM, it was revealed that Linus has crossed over the rainbow bridge. "Linus fought a hard fight, but he told us today he was tired and needed to cross over. I will write a tribute to our sweet Linus soon, but Papa Andy and I need time to grieve our sweet boy," Karen tweeted.

The tragic news was met with sadness from all over the internet. Twitter users poured in their untethered love and good wishes for Linus, the amazing canine. "I am so very sorry you guys.
