TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA: Frederick C Morello, a Florida skydiver was discovered dead after he crash landed on the front lawn of a residence, according to police.

On Saturday, October 7, the victim was found after a "solo parachuting incident" at around 12.25 pm on the lawn at Merry Lane in Titusville, read the statement issued by the Titusville Fire Department, reports People.

What led to Frederick C Morello's tragic death?

In a statement released on Monday, October 9, the Titusville Fire Department officials identified the skydiver as Frederick C Morello from Ormand Beach. The 69-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

After authorities discovered the skydiver, a request for a helicopter at the scene was rejected, police stated on X (formerly known as Twitter).

According to authorities, the victim was wearing "parachute attire and hear." CBS affiliate WKMG-TV reported that a neighbor's surveillance footage captured Morello's tragic crash that resulted in his death.

Veteran believes 'there's a problem' in the fatal crash

Speaking to the news outlet, a resident named James Sconiers said the parachutist landed in his front yard.

"I was asking the person that was laying on the ground, 'Hey man, can you hear me, can you hear me?' But he did not answer," the resident told the outlet.

Sconiers, who is a Vietnamese veteran with experience in aviation, expressed his suspicions in the fatal crash.

"Look at the video and look at what happened. Why did he fall so hard if all the safety mechanisms [were] in place? Something tells me there's a problem there," said Sconiers.

"He hit the ground. Bounced off the driveway into their grass. Almost like a basketball that’s just how hard he hit the ground like someone bounced him up. It’s hard," he added.

Talking to WKMG-TV, Nicole Lacount, who is a resident of the area, said that the scene of the crash was horrifying.

"I work in the medical field. That is the worst I've ever seen," she said.

Lacount reportedly witnessed the parachutist lying on the site after the arrival of emergency services, reported WKMG.

According to CBS News, the parachutist's crash landing took place a short distance from Titusville's Skydive Space Center. However, it remains unclear whether the fatal crash was connected to the center.

Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into the death of Morello, hoping to provide further information to his family on the tragic incident, according to People.
