OKLAHAMA CITY, OKLAHOMA: Becky Mason, a courageous 69-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, has tragically lost her battle with colon cancer. Shortly after receiving the devastating news that her kidneys had completely shut down, she was given a mere 24 to 72 hours to live.
Determined to make the most of their time together, Becky and her devoted partner of 19 years, George Kelley, 72, made a poignant decision - to marry one another. Surrounded by their loved ones, Becky and Kelley exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony held at Becky's hospice.

Who was Becky Mason?
Becky met Kelley nearly two decades ago on a dance floor, and since then, they have shared a deep bond, indulging in a shared passion for Godzilla, crafting, and cherishing life's experiences. Together, they have been blessed with five children and eleven grandchildren. In a poignant interview, just before Becky's passing, Kelley expressed his unwavering support for his beloved.
He reflected, "One thing led to another, and 19 years later, we're here. We're getting married." Despite the immense pain he felt witnessing Becky's decline, he remained steadfast, stating, "If I could take the cancer myself and have the cancer so she could continue to live, then I would. Gladly." Kelley has been Becky's caregiver, friend, and lover, and he pledged to continue fulfilling those roles until her final moments.
'She was surrounded by love and peace!'
Tragically, Becky's journey came to an end shortly after the wedding ceremony, as her family tearfully shared the news of her passing. In a heartfelt update, they expressed both sadness and gratitude, stating, "It is with great sadness as well as thankfulness that we announce Becky passed yesterday, Sunday, July 9th, around 3 pm. She was surrounded by love and peace." The family extended their appreciation for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time.
Initially, Becky's family had set up a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $3,000 to cover the expenses of her end-of-life care and to assist Kelley in his transition to the next stage of life. While their original intention was to provide comfort during this challenging period, the heartbreaking update shared on the page revealed that Becky had already departed, leaving behind cherished memories and a deep void in the lives of those who loved her.
What is colon cancer?
Colon cancer, also known as colorectal cancer, affects the large intestine (colon) and typically originates from polyps, which are small clusters of abnormal cells. These polyps can be observed during a colonoscopy since they protrude from the colon's surface like a mole. Common symptoms of colon cancer include the presence of blood in the stool or rectal bleeding, abdominal cramps, persistent gas, a constant feeling of incomplete bowel movements, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, and a persistent change in bowel habits lasting more than a month.
