Skarsten is a Canadian actress, born in Toronto on April 23, 1985. After an accident terminated her 12-year ballet career at the Royal Academy of Dance, she switched to competitive hockey.
At the age of 16, she was found and cast as Black Canary/Dinah Lance in the WB television series 'Birds of Prey' in 2002.
After the show was canceled, she interrupted her acting career to complete high school and pursue a double degree in English literature and classical history at Queen's University.
Following graduation, she resumed her acting career, appearing in 'Lost Girl,' 'Fifty Shades of Grey, 'Reign,' 'Molly's Game,' 'Batwoman' and 'Imposters'.
