FREDERICK, COLORADO: The murder of the Watts family has inspired several on-screen adaptations, including the 2020 Netflix documentary 'American Murder: The Family Next Door' and the Lifetime film 'Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer.' On August 13, 2018, Christopher Lee Watts murdered his pregnant wife Shanann, and their two children Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, by smothering them.

The house where the murders took place, located 2825 Saratoga Trail in Frederick, Colorado, was reportedly listed and sold in 2022. As reported by MEAWW, the five-bedroom, four-bath house in Frederick was sold for $600,000. Recently a Redditor claimed that the new owners of the house are being accused online of being obsessed with the case, "mimicking SW’s (Shanann Watts) pictures/clothing."

Who owns the Watts House?

As per The US Sun, the Watts house was sold by LoKation Real Estate to the Millers family. The publication cited a private Facebook post to confirm the development. "Yes, this was the Watts house. It is now the Miller home and they cannot wait to put love, family, and laughter back into this house," The Sun quoted the real estate agent as having posted on Facebook.

The Miller family too had shared posts of themselves in front of the house, with the caption, "We hope to honor you in this home you once called yours and to fill it with smiles as you did". As per several reports, the Millers are a family of five, including three little children.

Netizens sympathize with new owners amid reports of harassment

Recently, a Redditor, who goes by the handle Appropriate_Teach_49, started a thread stating that the new owners are not happy about comparisons to the Watts. "Apparently the new owners of the Watts house are getting inundated with comments and rumors accusing them of being obsessed with the case, mimicking SW’s pictures/clothing, buying the house to turn it into some kind of morbid attraction, etc., and responded to all of them in a lengthy Facebook post," the user wrote.

Commenting on it one user wrote, "People are so toxic on the internet cyber bullying should be a crime. I hope they made their acc private." Agreeing with them, another user commented, "To be clear I definitely agree with you- nobody deserves harassment online or otherwise. I was curious where they were getting this info from because I haven’t actually seen a screenshot of a post, but they’re claiming she posted publicly about the harassment they’ve been having." A third user wrote, "Exactly. The Rzuceks are happy it sold and the new family are happy to have bought it. It's really no one else's business."
