MANKATO, MINNESOTA: A Minnesota care home worker was caught sexually assaulting an 83-year-old woman, who has Alzheimer's disease, when her son checked in on her via webcam on Monday night, according to reports.
The son said he watched in horror over a surveillance camera as 52-year-old Olabamidele Olumide Bewaji caressed and undressed his mother before sexually assaulting her twice in her room at Pillars of Mankato Senior Living home, the Mankato Free Press cited a court complaint as saying. Bewaji was charged with felony sexual assault and is being held in jail ahead of his next court appearance.

Who is Olabamidele Olumide Bewaji?
Bewaji, a senior home employee, was seen allegedly caressing the octogenarian, before undressing and sexually assaulting the woman as she lay in her bed. The woman's son witnessed the attack through a surveillance camera he had set up in his mother’s room so he could keep an eye on her while at home.
Bewaji then climbed into bed with the woman and sexually assaulted her a second time. The surveillance camera also had a speaker that let the son broadcast his voice into his mother's room. He told investigators that he used the speaker to demand Bewaji to stop. The carer eventually stopped, but the son noted he did it slowly. Police arrived at the scene and found the elderly woman partially dressed and unable to understand what had happened to her.
Bewaji initially denied the charges against him but he later admitted to the sexual abuse after learning investigators would conduct a search warrant, the Southern Minnesota News reported. He then admitted sexual contact with the elderly woman but claimed he only did so after the octogenarian initiated the sexual acts. He later allegedly admitted yet another sexual encounter with the woman in February, despite knowing she was a vulnerable adult.
