Depraved man sexually assaults 83-yr-old woman in her home minutes after failing to abduct 15-yr-old schoolgirl
A traveler who sexually assaulted an 83-year-old woman moments after attempting to kidnap and sexually assault a teenage schoolgirl has been sentenced to 11 years behind bars on January 16.
31-year-old Martin Maughan reportedly tore the elderly woman's pants to shreds as he attempted to sexually violate her after he burst into her home in the affluent Buckinghamshire village of Stoke Poges last year. The man then fled the police and racked up a slew of crimes during which he sped at 100mph on a 30mph road, drove the wrong way on the M25, and car-jacked two vehicles in what was reported as a drug-fuelled crime spree.
The Daily Mail reported that Maughan, who is 6ft 2inches, was sentenced to 11 years and one month behind bars, disqualified from driving for ten years, and was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. His defense attorney told the court that his client had faced "stigma" within the traveling community for all his sexual offending.
