NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: With the ratings taking a nosedive, Bravo feared that the audience might totally lose interest in one of their most popular shows- 'Real Housewives of New York City'. So, in a bid to retain the audience's attention and bring back the reality show's historic ratings, the network decided to do a complete overhaul of the show, including getting rid of all the old cast members and replacing them with a group of new and young housewives.
Don't worry this doesn't mean that you'll never get to see 'RHONY' fan-favorites like Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, ever again. According to various reports the network created a new show featuring the OGs and some of the popular housewives from the franchise in a show called 'RHONY Legacy', while the rebooted version of 'RHONY' will welcome some fresh faces. While the network has kept the details of the new ladies under the wrap for the longest time, the name of one new housewife has finally been revealed! You may have heard of her or maybe even follow her on Instagram, she's none other than a popular fashion influencer- Elizabeth Savetsky aka Lizzy Savetsky. Who is Lizzy Savetsky?
Lizzy Savetsky is a fashion influencer based out of New York. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Lizzy is married to plastic surgeon Dr. Ira Savetsky. The couple has three children together. Lizzy regularly updates her over 201,000 followers on Instagram with not only her fashion choices but is also vocal about her Jewish faith, sharing the Yiddish language with the world, and giving a peek into her family life as a busy mom of three.
On the outside, Lizzy's life may seem picture perfect but this dark-haired beauty battled alcoholism and lived to tell the tale. In an interview with Aish, she revealed that she had her last drink on July 31, 2021. She recalled how after she backed out while hosting guests at her home for Shabbat, and waking up to her husband's disappointed look pushed her to seek help. She said, "It was Shabbat afternoon. I started drinking at the synagogue and then continued at home. We were having guests over and I blacked out while hosting. I don’t remember anything until I woke up the next morning.” "But the look on her husband’s exhausted face said it all: I’m tired. I'm tired of lying to the kids and to your parents. I’m tired of enabling you by covering up this garbage… And I can’t do it anymore. In that moment I realized I could lose everything. That’s when I was willing to hand everything over to God and give this battle my all," she recounted.
According to Page Six which first reported the news of Lizzy as the new housewife on 'RHONY', Vera Wang's SVP of global communications, Priya Shukla, is also in the running for a s pot on the reality show.
