Music industry legends and all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie are back on the judges' panel, with Emmy-winning producer Ryan Seacrest donning the hat of the show's host on 'American Idol' Season 20. The first round of the season's auditions featured some shocking moments like the judges handing out the golden ticket to Normandy, and saying no to music legend Aretha Franklin's granddaughter Grace Franklin. Who is Kurtis Bell?

Kurtis Bell is a 22-year-old professional entertainer, singer, and musician from Dallas, Texas. Bell was born in Hollywood and grew up in Texas and Louisiana, whose influences can be seen in his performances. According to his website, he specializes in American Roots Rock’n’Roll! Aside from singing, Bell can also play piano and a guitar. He taught himself how to play piano at the tender age of ten and later proceeded to learn guitar by himself as well. It looks like this young artist is ready to showcase his talents to the world, as he is all set to audition for 'American Idol'.

"Kurtis loves to excite his audience above all else, and won't stop until every person in the crowd is having just as much fun as he is. His energy is like electricity in the air of every show," states his website. He performed at the Texas Music Hall of Fame, and the 25th Annual Deep Ellum Art and Music Festival. Bell regularly posts clips of his performances on his Instagram page and on YouTube. We can't wait to watch his journey on the ABC show.
