Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle website Goop and the products she sells on it came under serious fire after one of the offerings caused an accident that fortunately didn't cause a lot of damage. One of the products that Paltrow had launched on the website was a candle priced at $75. For those wondering what must be the reason to price a candle that steeply, it carried the scents of Paltrow's vagina. Scent notes include geranium, citrusy bergamot and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed, according to her online store. UK woman Jody Thompson managed to get her hands on a unit. She didn't buy it with her own money but instead won it during an online quiz, according to the Sun.

Wanting to experience what the candle named 'This smells like my vagina' truly smelled like, Jody lit it and what happened next was something she might have never imagined. As soon as Jody lit the candle, a 50-centimeter flame leaped out of the glass and it ended up causing an "inferno" in her living room. Speaking to the outlet, Jody said, "The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere." The 50-year-old, a media consultant from Kilburn, North London, also told the outlet, “I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room."

Jody lives with her partner David Snow and the two of them quickly sprung into action to avert any untoward situation. “We eventually got it under control and threw it out the front door," she told the outlet about how they managed to stop the incident to turn into a full-blown fire. “It could have burned the place down. It was scary at the time, but funny looking back that Gwyneth’s vagina candle exploded in my living room," she further said, making light of the situation.

The $75 candle came with a warning on the website that stated, "Burn candle within sight. Keep away from things that catch fire. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Trim wick to 1/8" before every lighting. Place on a stable, heat resistant surface. Keep wax pool free of debris Do not burn for more than two hours at a time. Allow glass to cool completely before handling." The website also said, “This candle started as a joke between perfumer Douglas Little and GP. The two were working on a fragrance, and she blurted out, “Uhhh..this smells like a vagina” — but evolved into a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent. (That turned out to be perfect as a candle).”

Paltrow had launched this product last year on Goop which described the scent of the candle as "funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected". The same scent is being used for a roll-on that she launched on the website which retails for $45 and said to "stir the senses toward the realms of fantasy and seduction".
