Who is Yacedrah Williams? Michigan woman almost lost eye after pouring nail glue in it instead of eye drops
REDFORD CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN: A woman almost lost her eye after mistakenly pouring nail glue in her eye instead of eye drops. The dangerous thing reportedly happened last Thursday, April 15, when Yacedrah Williams accidentally grabbed adhesive meant to repair broken fingernails from her purse and poured it in her eye. She actually meant to get the lubricating eye drops for her contact lens.
Explaining how the mishap happened, Williams said on the fateful day, she woke up at around one in the night because of dry eyes. She decided to take out her contact lens and in that process, she got her purse. Since both the bottles were of the same size and she was not fully awake, she took out the bottle of nail glue. However, she only realized the gaffe just as the liquid fell into her eye.

Williams stated, “I was like, 'Oh my goodness!' It dropped in my eye and I tried to wipe it away.” She reportedly panicked and asked her husband to immediately call 911. “It sealed my eyes shut. I just started throwing cold water, and I was trying to pull my eyes apart but couldn't. It was completely shut,” she added. Her husband, Derrick, said: “She went into a panic. I tried to keep her from panicking but then I said, 'Derrick, this is in her eye not yours.’”
Soon, the woman was provided medical assistance. Doctors reportedly successfully managed to open her eyes and remove the glue-covered contact lens. Williams did not lose her eyesight, but lost eyelashes. “They said that actually the contacts saved my vision. They had to pull on it and flip the top of my lid,” she told WXYZ, before adding, “I don't think I'll even have nail glue anymore.”
This incident came months after a Louisiana mother went viral by putting herself in a very sticky situation. TikTok user Tessica Brown reportedly used Gorilla Glue to set her hair. Despite washing her hair numerous times, the glue did not move. As a result, she first had to go to the emergency room for treatment, but it did not help her much. Later, Dr Michael Obeng from Los Angeles, California, offered her help for free to Brown, who became popular as ‘'Gorilla Glue girl' on social media. The process normally costs a massive amount of $12,500.
At the time, Obeng said, “When I found out this was a reality, you can only feel compassion and sympathy for Tessica. The surgery went well. Tessica is doing well. She's awake. The hair crew is doing her hair.”
Earlier, Brown had described her pain after finding herself in such a difficult situation. In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Melicia Johnson, Brown said, “I never was going to take this to social media. The reason I took this to social media was because I didn't know what else to do. And I know somebody out there could have told me something. I didn't think for one second when I got up the next morning it was gonna be everywhere.”
